⚠ First-time install heads-up

Windows SmartScreen will show a "Windows protected your PC" dialog the first time you run the installer. This is expected — IOnclad v1.0 ships without an EV code-signing certificate (we'll add one once revenue justifies the $300+/yr cost).

To proceed: click "More info" in the dialog, then "Run anyway." Once installed, no future dialogs appear.

You can verify the download yourself with the SHA-256 checksum above — it matches the build artifact published from our GitHub org. The Pro license itself is signed with Ed25519 and verified offline by your local app — that signature is the real anti-tamper guarantee.

After install — activate your license
  1. Launch IOnclad Desktop. The free tier opens by default — you can scan any folder right away.
  2. To unlock Pro / Team / Business: open Settings (top-right gear icon) → License.
  3. Paste the license key from your Polar purchase email (starts with IONCLAD-PRO-, IONCLAD-TEAM-, or IONCLAD-BIZ-) and click Activate.
  4. Activation completes in a few seconds. Your tier badge turns cyan and the full feature set unlocks. The app remains 100% offline after this — verification uses the embedded Ed25519 public key, not a license server.
